I was really taken by this exhibition. It was a nice size (I could read through all the text and examine all the objects in a reasonable time), the text was beautifully written (concise and yet contained nice little details and tit-bits) and it covered a good inclusive and representative range of subject matter (eg. indigenous Australians, women, non-British prospectors). And it is free. The Old Treasury in partnership with the Public Records Office of Victoria have done a terrific job. It closes on 26 May 2019.

Object 18: ‘The humble petition’. Oh to be able to write Chinese characters as beautifully as those on this petition. (Public Records Office of Victoria)
